2023 Porsche Cayenne spy shots and video: Major update pegged for performance crossover

Porsche is out testing prototypes for an updated version of its Cayenne mid-size crossover.

The popular performance crossver looks set to take on a radical—at least for Porsche—new look judging by the changes spotted on the prototypes.

The front end has been completely revised and features new headlights with a flatter, more angular shape similar to the design used on the Taycan. The daytime running lights integrated with the front fascia have also taken on a new design.

The taillights have been completely concealed, suggesting a new concept here. We can also see that the tailgate has been revised, as the recess for the license plate has been moved onto the rear fascia. This design is already used on the related Cayenne Coupe which itself is about to undergo a similar update.

There isn’t a look inside but we can imagine the dash being updated to integrate a fully digital dash similar again to what we see in the Taycan.

It also isn’t clear what Porsche has planned for the powertrains. Typically the automaker dials up the horsepower on most grades with its updates. The lineup currently tops out with the Turbo S E-Hybrid grade, which is rated at a stout 670 hp.

While the Cayenne Coupe has a new Turbo GT grade that packs a twin-turbo V-8 which on its own delivers 631 hp, it isn’t clear if this grade will make it into the regular Cayenne line.

Look for the updated Cayenne to arrive on the market in 2022 as a 2023 model.

Porsche Cayenne третьего поколения, дебютировавший летом 2017 года, готовится к плановому рестайлингу. Минувшей зимой мы уже видели тестовый прототип, а теперь нашим шпионам попался еще один экземпляр, проходящий испытания на дорогах общего пользования в Германии.

Если у предыдущей машины задняя часть была закамуфлирована и стояли временные фонари, то в данном случае корма выглядит как у дореформенного варианта. Спереди разработчики скрыли истинные очертания новых фар. Капот слегка изменится, радиаторная решетка в соответствии с текущей модой увеличится в размерах.

Кроме того, впервые удалось заглянуть в частично замаскированный салон. Судя по снимкам, поменяется не только центральная консоль, но и селектор трансмиссии.

О возможных заменах или пополнении в и без того широкой моторной гамме говорить пока рано. В теории «Кайен» мог бы перенять форсированный до 630 л.с. четырехлитровый V8 у Porsche Panamera Turbo S, представленного прошлым летом. Собственно, минувшей осенью производитель уже слегка освежил гибридные версии кроссоверов Cayenne и Cayenne Coupe по образцу обновленных «Панамер», позаимствовав у последних увеличенную литий-ионную батарею, благодаря которой дальность пробега с выключенным ДВС выросла сразу на 30%.

2023 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Facelift Spied Inside And Out

The infotainment appears to be sticking out from the dashboard and there’s a new gear lever.

Even though Porsche is an automaker with a relatively small lineup, it gives the impression it’s working on updates 24/7. That’s perhaps not a surprise seeing as how the 911 family has more variations than we can count and the same can be said about the smaller 718 sports cars. The Cayenne is no exception, spawning multiple versions and a separate body style with the not-a-coupe Coupe.

After launching the Coupe-only Turbo GT, the peeps from Zuffenhausen appear to be focusing on the flagship version with its complicated name – Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid. The prototype is a telltale sign the whole Cayenne family will be getting a mid-cycle update as the third-gen model was introduced a little over four years ago.

It’s not just any prototype of Porsche’s big SUV as we are dealing with the Turbo S E-Hybrid with its quad exhaust tips. The acid green brake calipers are dual fuel caps are signs of an electrified setup, the most powerful of the bunch as it pumps out a massive 670 horsepower, thus eclipsing the 631-hp Turbo GT. Although it may seem undisguised at the front glance, the headlights have fake stickers hiding the real design and there’s also some black tape on the front bumper.

Bigger changes could take place inside the cabin where the prototype spied high-altitude testing in Colorado featured a rather unusual center console. It’s pretty clear the dashboard is not the final version as the infotainment has a ghastly hump with a thick bezel made out of cheap plastic. We don’t know whether the display will indeed stick out from the dash or this particular Cayenne had a provisional setup.

Porsche’s Big SUV Is Getting An Update:

The bulky automatic gear lever is now gone, replaced with a much smaller shaver-like design already used in the 992-generation 911 to give the lower section of the center console a cleaner look. Bear in mind this Cayenne is a prototype, so the quality of the materials is certainly not on a par with what you’ll find in the production version.

We’re expecting the wraps to come off either by the end of the year or early 2022 and there could be some changes underneath the hood since Porsche’s engineers are always finding ways to tweak their powertrains.

Немецкая компания Porsche продолжает активную разработку фейслифтинга кроссовера Cayenne 2023. Последние фотографии модели удалось получить с его тестовых испытаний на Нюрбургринге, однако сегодня в Сети опубликовали свежий набор фотографий стоящего автомобиля, в связи с чем удалось более детально познакомиться с его новым дизайном.

Напомним, что Porsche Cayenne является самым продаваемым автомобилем немецкой компании. Это уже третье поколение популярного кроссовера, которое было официально представлено еще в 2017 году на международном автосалоне во Франкфурте. Данный промежуточный рестайлинг позволит автомобилю «дожить» до его смены поколений. На прототипе, который попал на фото нет серийных задних фонарей, при этом, модель получила двойные патрубки выхлопной системы на обеих сторонах заднего бампера. Самым большим нововведением, которое заметно в данный момент, можно назвать перемещение области под номерной знак с багажной крышки на бампер, в стиле нового Porsche Macan. В передней части изменения точечные, но тем не менее они помогают сделать внешний вид отличным от дорестайлинговой модели. Головная оптика покрыта виниловой пленкой, но уже сейчас видно, что она получила измененный вид. Передний бампер тоже получил измененную форму и воздухозаборники на нем.

Данный набор фото примечателен тем, что на них можно увидеть изображения салонной части паркетника. Кроме этого, видна цифровая приборная панель с более спортивной графикой. Дополнительно из изменений в салоне стоит отметить модернизированный мультируль, центральную консоль и, по слухам, новый Cayenne получит селектор переключения режимов работы “автомата” в стиле нового Porsche 911.

По предварительным данным дебют автомобиля состоится во второй половине 2022 года, а на рынок он выйдет как модель 2023 года. Моторная часть нового кроссовера будет подвергнута электрификации для удовлетворения строгих правил по выбросам вредных веществ в атмосферу. Предполагается, что будут версии как с 48-вольтовым стартер-генератором, так и с подзаряжаемыми гибридными модулями.

Spy Pictures: 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe

Porsche has been seen rolling out their new Cayenne for a test and in recent times a lot of spy pictures have come up around it. But just a few days ago, the German giant was seen testing the Cayenne coupe with a lot of camouflage wrap. The 2023 Porsche Cayenne is going to take on the likes of Audi Q8, BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The competition is fierce and companies have weirdly found a large market for these SUV coupes.

Porsche Cayenne can be said as the company’s still recent offering as it hasn’t been on the scene for more than 3 years now. The coupe version of the popular SUV is to compete with the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. It was first introduced in the 2019 year as 2020 model year and here it is spied again with updates on par with the new Cayenne.

The development of the new SUV coupe will take time and it is speculated to arrive in 2022 as a 2023 model year after the release of the new Cayenne. The new Cayenne range is going to carry new face and headlights much inspired from the likes of Taycan and 918.

The interior wasn’t clear to the camera person as it had been camouflaged and Porsche is seen hiding the infotainment system. Which would most probably be like the big touch screen that came in the Taycan.

Porsche can very likely be using the existing powertrains and hence the Cayenne lineup would start with 335 hp turbo-V6 and the top-of-the-range would be the twin-turbo V8 in the Turbo S E-hybrid. That setup produces a combined power of 670 hp.

Porsche has trademarked ‘GT5’ which in theory does look like ‘GTS’ but this can very well mean that there is a hardcore version of the Cayenne coupe planned. Which would hence take on the X6M and the GLE 63 AMG coupe.
